Thanksgiving!

We had a great time with Aunt Marie for thanksgiving. We traveled down to Hampton, VA on Wednesday afternoon. We did not realize that we would hit Washington DC traffic and thanksgiving traffic...it took us seven hours and it was supposed to take us four...five with traffic:( But once we arrived @ Marie's it was very relaxing. She was such a great hostess and we had a WONDERFUL time!! She got Ella a princess flashlight (so if she got scared @ night she could turn it on--great idea) and Luci a turkey balloon (you will see it pictured below-it was a HUGE hit). We had a delicious meal, and we even got to go to the beach on Friday. Thanks Marie for making it a great Thanksgiving--we have so much to be thankful for:)

Luci liked to climb these steps repeatedly and Ella liked to dance in the middle of the entry way.

A baby shower with a bit of birthday and thanksgiving!

We were in Ohio this past weekend for Danielle and Lydia's shower. It was a great time! We also celebrated Ella's birthday (nana and papa got her an ice cream cake...:) and a thanksgiving dinner, which was delicious! I have pictures to share, of course! We got home @ 2:00am on Monday morning and Mark had a paper due @ 12:00pm the next day--he made it and I survived a day with the kids suffering from fun withdrawal.....

A couple birthday shout outs to Jill (yesterday) and Aimee (tomorrow)! Happy birthday to great sister-in-laws!!!

My first trip to DC...

I didn't get to go downtown, but I did get to see the zoo which was awesome...and free.  Another interesting fact is the zoo is built on a hill-- so going down it is fine with a double stroller...going up it is a bit more challenging.  I was pretty tired after the trip:)

Mark had a meeting so we hung out @ the zoo til he was done:)  It was pretty fun...here are some pictures.

Elephants, we got to see them get weighed.

Happy Birthday to Ella!

It has been awhile since I have posted last. We went to Pittsburgh to see our new niece/cousin, Lydia (Aaron and Danielle too:)...then we were onto Ohio for a long weekend. I had my toughcat reunion (some bible study friends from college). It was sooooo good to see them and connect with them! I have missed them terribly.

Then we had Ella's party with the Hanke side...Halloween @ the end of the week...then the next week we went to the aquarium with Ella's friend Olivia and on Thursday her friends Jacob and Brady came over to play. So here are lots of pictures!!! We are catching our breath now...although tomorrow I think I am going to take my first trip to Washington DC...maybe see the zoo:)
